For Friendship

Selwyn Centre @ St John’s

This non-denominational community service meets every Thursday morning at 9.30 am -12 noon. Dot Watson and her volunteers will welcome you to a morning of fun, laughter, exercise and brain storming!  If you  would like to either come along or to help or to drive our guests , or even better still , if you know of someone, especially those  on their own,  whom you think would benefit from getting together with people to socialise and just to get out of the house, please let us know – 871 5568 ( parish office) Dot on 872 7780. There is a small charge of $3.00 per guest.

Knit and Natter

The knit and natter group gather on Monday morning between 9:30 am and 11am in St Johns Lounge. They each bring along their current handwork to do (it doesn’t have to be knitting) and if you need help with something you are doing, usually there is someone to offer expertise. If you prefer to just come for company and a friendly chat you are most welcome. If you are not a handwork person a quiz is often enjoyed, or their are varied interesting topics to natter about. Come along and enjoy our group, have a laugh, and a cuppa with us. Contact office on 871 5568

Friendly Games

The club meet for friendship and fun on Wednesday’s from 1pm – 3:30 pm in St Johns Church lounge and have been doing so for the past seven years. There are no age restrictions so everyone is welcome.
The afternoon starts with Bingo, then moves on to card and board games, none of which are really competitive. Tickets in small raffle may be purchased each Wednesday and a draw for the door fee of $1 back to a member. The group quite often look for an excuse to have a pot luck lunch before their meeting. The afternoon finishes with a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. First three visits are free, then a $3.50 sub is payable.
